I recently purchased these Yakima bike straps #2412 for my hitch bike carrier. One size does not fit all models. The holes were way too small to fit over the cradle. I have been unable to find replacement straps from any Yakima dealer in our surrounding area. But after much research, I think I finally found the correct size straps from a place in Texas called Rack Outfitters. The correct size strap is #8820103 and $8.00 for 2. My bike rack is a Big Horn 4 hitch model - 2002.

The holes of this strap are too small to fit into the rack of my yakima bike rack.

Work with my bike rack, however they are slightly different then the originals (a bit harder to put on and off). This was the best site I found that carried the straps. I bought my bike rack at Dicks Sporting Goods, but they don't carry the extra straps.

Down here in lower, slower Florida the sun and salt air conspire to destroy any compound exposed to the elements. My original chain straps, in continuous use and exposed 24/7 to the elements for the past four years, are nearing their useful existence, evidenced by minute cracks when pulled to attach my bikes to my Yakima hitch rack.
These straps are essential to maintaining safe transportation of my beloved two-wheel carbon fiber, titanium and steel babies.
They are OEM replacements and inexpensive. Do yourself a favor, keep a spare set on hand or replace your rack's aging straps today!
Perfectly fine replacement strapsAug 14, 2009
We needed replacement straps for our bike rack and could not find them in a local retail store. Unfortunately we waited until we were just about to go on vacation so we paid for overnight shipping. It was ridiculously expensive for a few straps. The straps are just like the ones we had on the rack, so they are great.
