My Thule 821 fork mount experienceJun 10, 2010
This is a wonderful device. Sturdy and reliable. Have not used any other brand but could not be more satisfied with this one.

I bought two of these a year-and-a-half ago and they have worked out really well. I use my bikes all the time, mountain, hybrid, and road bike. They have done their job admirably, and continue to be top notch products. The paint has faded in the sun, but honestly I see that as a good sign. They don't look pretty anymore, but there isn't any rust on the bolts even though I leave them exposed to the elements all year. I frequently drive on the interstate at 75 mph with two bikes attached. At first I used tons of straps, but since then I have decided that they mostly aren't necessary as they are weighted down by a couple of cut up 2x4's. I much prefer these yolks to the hitch rack that my father-in-law has; loading and unloading is easier, your car still fits in the garage, and your bikes don't jostle each-other. Coupled with some wheel carriers, this is the way to go if you have a vehicle with some space, such as a Ford Ranger or bigger.
I like this product enough that I recently ordered another one to fit a third bike in the back of my truck.
Bottom Line: Don't wast your time and money on a rack, buy a couple of these and some scrap wood.

This is the first Thule product that I have purchased. The finish and over feel of the mount is good. I use it for a mountain and a road bike, work well for both.

The Thule bicycle fork mounts worked great. It was very easy to install, I simply screwed them down to the floor boards of a utility trailer using some dry wall screws and away we went. I drove from New Orleans to North Carolina and the bikes remained secure on the trailer the entire trip. They worked great.

Perfect for Transporting Bikes in CRVMay 26, 2009
We have a Honda CRV and needed a way to transport bikes. Since the spare tire is mounted on the back of the vehicle it is harder to find a bike rack for it. We don't have a hitch, so it would be very costly to get one installed and then pay for a rack. We bought two sets of the fork mounts and installed them on a 2X6 piece of scrap wood (51 cents at Home Depot) which fits perfectly inside the back of the CRV. Problem solved for not much fuss or money!
