Love it!Aug 16, 2009 I was skeptical ordering something like this online, but did it anyway after I'd read reviews. My only concern was that it wouldn't fold up because of my bumper, but I assumed the one guy who's review told of that problem was a fluke. Surely my standard Suburban ('04) bumper would not be an issue. It wasn't a fluke, and it was an issue. My bumper stuck out too far, also.
After a little effort, I was able to track down an extender for my hitch. It was about $30. Now, the rack is great. It's easy to fold. Once I put the rack on the car, I haven't taken it off. I would recommend this rack, but know you may need an extender...and, buy another pin if you plan on folding and unfolding a lot. The one that comes with the rack was ridiculous. That was about $5 at Lowe's.

Nice product, but fit and finish could use work.Dec 20, 2008 Great product, I like the high sides, and it is really rugged. I had a couple of problems with fit and finish with some of the hardware though.
A washer that goes on the bolt to connect the basket with its arm was too small, so I had to buy a larger one. Also, the pin that secures the basket in either an up or down position doesn't fit through its hole, so I will have to either grind it down or buy a smaller pin.
Lastly, on my RAV4, I can't fold it up because of the spare tire on the back of my car, so I purchased a 6" hitch extender so that I could fold it up.
As far as the small bolt that screws into the hitch receiver to secure the rack to the hitch is kind of untrusting, so I bought sport racks Locking Hitch Pin, which still threads into the hitch receiver, but is full length and also lockable.

Almost perfectDec 04, 2008 Great size, very strong, love the high sides, snugs into hitch to eliminate rattling... only complaint is it is a real close fit when folded up. It doesn't quite clear the rear bumper on my Honda Pilot (it's real close and I can use a smaller diameter bolt to hold it up since I can't fold it up far enough to use the provided bolt), but does fully fold up on my 4Runner, so be careful if your hitch doesn't extend slightly past your bumper. Other strange thing was the cotter pin was too large in diameter to fit through bold... had to drill it out some.

Good Value But Fit With BumperApr 28, 2008 I am a big stickler for good directions, and this folding basket by SportRack came with great directions and was easy to assemble. The size and features of this rack (most notably the high rail) combined with its low price make this an excellent deal. Solid design and construction.
My only disappointment was that when folded into the up position, the rack hits my bumper and cannot be secured. I will probably drill a few holes and move the rack out a bit on the arm to gain the additional clearance. Also, SportRack puts a wierd plastic mount and nut inside the male-end of the hitch mount and provides a little bolt that is suppose to secure the entire rack to the trailer hitch. Bad design...it's almost impossible to hold the rack in place and thread a bolt. I knocked the plastic piece out of the inside of the male end of the hitch and just used a pin. Worked great.
Overall, great product and value. Would recommend to anyone.
