Nice trailerAug 07, 2010
By Bob I've used this a couple of times now, and I like it a lot. It's light, tows very easy, and does not bounce around. The instructions were very good and all the parts were there. Nothing negative at all.

Great trailer, easy assemby.Aug 04, 2011

As others have noted, the assembly time is considerably longer than forecasted, but the parts are clearly separated in clear baggies, well labeled, and the instructions excellent. I had one minor part missing, but a call to Malone in Westbrook, Maine got the part on the way to me by first class mail.
The Manufacturer's Bill of Sale, and Certificate of Origin required for Maine Registration was sent out immediately upon request.
Having this trailer for our two sea kayaks has resulted in our getting far more use out of the kayaks (17-footers) since us seniors no longer had to hoist the kayaks onto the rooftop of our SUV. The trailer tows perfectly at 60 mph (or more) and it has attracted a lot of interest from other kayakers at the boat ramps.
I had hoped to get a trailer coupler in the 1-7/8" ball size, but the trailer tongue can only accommodate a 2" coupler.

Good trailerAug 22, 2011
By Tom I bought this trailer a few months ago to haul a canoe to the BWCAW. Assembly took about 5 hours and was not difficult thanks to a decent manual. My canoe is 17 feet long and about four feet stick off the back end. I added four Yakima gunwale brackets and straps. The canoe towed beautifully even on bumpy gravel roads. The trailer holds the canoe high above the road which I think will be a benefit if I drive through wet gravel roads.

PerfectApr 20, 2012

I took five hours to follow the excellent instructions and assemble this trailer yesterday. Used it today with my trident 15 and it has cut the work of handling a 16' kayak with the rudder by 75% or more. It tows behind my suv like it wasn't there and has cut the work incredibly. I was astonished at how substantial this trailer is for the price and there was not one missing bolt or nut nor were the electrics too short or anything else. it tracks straight as an arrow and when the box arrives today will be perfect. Best instructions I've ever seen for an assembly and they said on the phone they were mailing the MCO yesterday so I can license it instead of using an old, illegal for this vehicle license. I couldn't wait!
Have now used it extensively and it is one of the best deals for the money I've ever done. the only thing I have done is replaced the "bulb" tail light fixtures with LED submersible ones which are sealed and will not have the problems bulbs with filaments have...bought them at Advance Auto and took fifteen minutes to change.
I have a Yakima fork lock bicycle rack for my big Trek hybrid bike for a trip to Maine that fits as well and even with my big, wide OK Trident 15 sot kayak I can put two more on for shuttling with the extra cam straps and blankets and foam blocks I once used for the suv top. It is fantastic. I tie an extra strap to the nose and another to the hand hold to keep the kayak from sliding forward through the Malone seawing saddles though it never has. At 70 mph the SUV doesn't even know it's there. The tires on mine take 60 psi and if you load it up they told me on the phone to put 90 fully loaded. I bought the plastic box for storage and a lock to keep honest people out of that as well. It has made the work of dealing twice a week with a long kayak absolutely nothing. If there is a boat ramp to take the kayak out I just back the trailer in a bit, put the nose on the back wing saddle and just pull the wet, slick poly kayak up onto the two saddles with straps already on and tighten one, drive to the parking lot and at waist level finish up.
Can you tell I think it's terrific?

Malone MicroSport TrailerNov 03, 2011
By New England Kayaker I searched for a multi-use but light weight trailer that could do multiple tasks. The Malone MicroSport trailer was it. It was delivered quickly w/in 4 days of purchase from Amazon. My challenge was putting it together- it's delivered in 4 large boxes. However, the directions were quite clear and I was able to complete it even though I am a 50+ year old woman with out much experience with tools. My first trial was a 500 mile trip using the trailer to move a Thompson Skiff, placed upside down - the trailer held up very well with out any problems on different road types. It's also wonderful to store- since it doesn't take up alot of space.
I would purchase the Malone trailer again and have recommended it to friends.
