Do it yourself...easy!Jul 25, 2011
By Cosmo Girl These load assist racks are awesome! It delivers exactly what it is supposed to do. Assist you to get your kayak on your car/SUV (mine is an SUV) by yourself. It is simple and works well. It is fantastic and easy to use. I recommend it highly. The Malone Racks that I got for them are the Downloaders so I can put them down and get in my garage (without the kayak of course). If you do not always have help to put your kayak on your car or remove it from your car, you need this. =)
Enjoy!

Easy LoadingJul 31, 2012
By kbd I'm 5'8", have a Ford Explorer, and a 14' kayak. Balancing the kayak while standing on my tiptoes on the running bar was never fun, and I'm not even going to go into how unsafe it was. The load assist has made my life so much easier. I try to get out onto the water as much as possible, and now there isn't any hesitation about those impromptu trips or whining about how much of a pain it is to load and unload the 'yak. Even after a day on the water (and being dog tired) it goes up simply and with minimal effort on my part.
I use the Telos with the Malone Downloaders, the combination has been perfect, no more parking outside because the truck doesn't fit into the garage with the racks.
I did ended up making one small modification to the Telos loader. The padding on the ends of the "J" cradle didn't extend enough for my liking. I simply took 2 tennis balls and made small cuts to fit them over the ends.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Everyone who has seen this in action has commented on how nice it is. And a fair amount of those people said they'd be ordering too.

Excellent ProductSep 12, 2011
By John F. Fisher The Malone Telos Kayak Load Assist Module works extremely well. I also found it to be very well made. I recommend it highly. It's worth the money to make loading simple and also to protect the car and kayak from scratches and dents.
Put dents on my brand-new carMay 11, 2013

Hoisting the kayak was easy enough, pretty much as described. However, now there is a loud, unseemly, very noticeable dent where one of the suction cups attached and another dent, less noticeable, on the door where the second suction cup attached. I will try to wrap the suction cups in cloth next time, but I imagine that may make both of these arms unstable. I'm very, very upset about these dents. I wish I had heeded the comments made by a Subaru owner who warned about this product putting dents on your car.
